Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., CHRP, President of Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), has been elected as the new President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) for Region 8. This marks the first time in history that a BiPSU President has been chosen to lead PASUC.

The An Lantugi Debate Society at Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has made a return after a prolonged hiatus, marked by the kickoff of the 1st President Victor C. Cañezo Jr. Debate Cup. The event commenced with a debate and adjudication orientation, along with a mock debate at the University Hostel on November 15.

The event, organized by the Schools Press Advisers’ Movement, Incorporated (SPAM, Inc.) from November 8 to 10, focused on the theme, "Promoting Evidence-Based Journalism in the Reel World of AI and Social Media Influencers."
