BiPSU participates in CHED FLAIR masterclass for Visayas HEIs

Biliran Province State University participated in the Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation (FLAIR) Masterclass – Visayas Leg held on September 8–9 at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.

Representing the University were Dr. Pearl Irish V. de Paz, director of the Office of Research and Knowledge Management; Dr. Alvin Ampong, director of the Office of Extension Services and Societal Impact; and Ms. Chiejheacca Jehanna Yu, director of the Office of Internationalization Affairs.

Organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through its International Affairs Service, the two-day masterclass gathered around 64 higher education institutions from across the Visayas under the theme “Beyond Rankings: Strengthening Global Reputation.”

The activity provided participating institutions with discussions and workshops on internationalization, global ranking indicators, and the preparation of institutional data for Times Higher Education and QS submissions. It also included a self-assessment activity to help HEIs determine their readiness in managing and verifying data required for global benchmarking.

The masterclass concluded with a Commitment Signing, with participating institutions affirming their support for efforts to strengthen the international reputation and global competitiveness of Philippine higher education.

The activity is part of CHED’s Inclusive and Impact-Driven Internationalization pillar under the CHED A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda.
