Biliran Province State University participated in the two-day seminar-workshop on curriculum unbundling and BOPPPS instructional design for lifelong learning pathways, including ETEEAP, micro-credentials, and ODeL, conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VIII (CHEDRO VIII) on September 8–9 at the Radiant Hotel and Events in Tacloban City.

Representing BiPSU were Dr. Mae V. Ceblano, director of Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning; Ms. Dianne Dalin-as, chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness; and faculty members of the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Dr. Marianne Agnes T. Mendoza and Mr. Jeruel Espinazo.

The workshop was designed to strengthen participating higher education institutions’ (HEIs) capacity to offer flexible lifelong learning pathways. It focused on curriculum unbundling and the use of the BOPPPS instructional design framework in developing outcomes-focused and modular course units.

The sessions covered lifelong learning pathways, ODeL learning design, ETEEAP planning and learning design, and micro-credential development. Participants also worked on learning packages for ODeL, ETEEAP, and micro-credentials using the BOPPPS framework.

On the second day, participants presented and demonstrated their outputs, followed by peer review, quality checks, refinement, and integration of the learning packages.

The activity brought together selected public and private HEIs in the region to strengthen their capacity in developing lifelong learning programs and pathways.
