Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has further solidified its standing as an internationally recognized institution, climbing to the 15th rank overall among Philippine universities in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

Improving from its 19th-place finish last year, BiPSU also secured the 488th spot globally out of 1,745 participating universities from 105 countries.

In a statement, BiPSU President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., EdD, CHRP lauded the achievement as a direct reflection of the university’s strategic direction.

“Another proof that we are in our vision: ‘BiPSU is an internationally recognized university responsive to the needs of the local and global communities,’” Prof. Cañezo stated.

A highlight of this year’s assessment is BiPSU’s performance in the Setting & Infrastructure category, where the university secured the Rank 1 spot nationwide. The university also performed exceptionally well in Transportation, ranking 5th in the Philippines.

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an annual publication that assesses the sustainability and environmental impact of universities worldwide. BiPSU achieved Rank 1 in Setting & Infrastructure, Rank 5 in Transportation, Rank 28 in Waste Management, Rank 34 in Water Management, Rank 35 in Education and Research, and Rank 44 in Energy Conservation within the Philippine rankings.

Emphasizing the university's mantra of “Weaving BiPSU with the World and the World with BiPSU,” the University President expressed gratitude to the officials and employees for their collective efforts in achieving this milestone.

This recognition affirms BiPSU’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship while maintaining its upward trajectory in global institutional rankings.
