Biliran Province State University school deans and some academic officials conducted a two-day benchmarking activity at three higher education institutions in Cebu City on September 17–18, focusing on program administration, curriculum implementation, quality assurance, and lifelong learning initiatives. 

The delegation was led by Dr. Erwin G. Salvatierra, vice president for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, together with Dr. Mae V. Ceblano, director of the Office of Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning, and Mr. Carlito C. Cabas, Jr., director of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Effectiveness.

The group visited the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R), Cebu Technological University (CTU), and the University of San Carlos (USC) to exchange practices and gather information relevant to the management and delivery of academic programs. 

Discussions covered program administration, curriculum implementation, admission and assessment procedures, academic documentation, quality assurance practices, and the implementation of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

The activity also provided opportunities for the BiPSU delegation to engage with counterparts from the host institutions and explore practices that may be considered in strengthening the university’s academic and lifelong learning initiatives.

Insights from the visits are expected to support the university’s continuing work in program management, quality assurance, academic offerings, and pathways for lifelong learning and graduate education.
