Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has significantly advanced its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates following a strategic institutional visit to Thailand. Mrs. Eden R. Calvez, the University's Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) Coordinator, successfully completed an official ocular visit to key hospitality establishments, securing and expanding high-quality international training grounds for BSTM and BSHM students.

The centerpiece of the visit was the detailed inspection of the prestigious JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa in Phang Nga, Phuket. This critical step forms part of BiPSU’s meticulous preparations for the upcoming deployment of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) interns.

The visit was conducted to rigorously ensure that the training environment and facilities are world-class, the support services provided by the international industry partner are robust, and the overall experience aligns with the University's unwavering commitment to providing safe, secure, and high-quality internship experiences for every student, thereby guaranteeing that students gain real-world experience in an environment meeting the highest standards of safety and industry excellence.

In addition to finalizing arrangements for the next SIAP batch, Mrs. Calvez pursued opportunities to broaden the university’s international network. This strategic exploration aims to diversify global exposure and internship pathways for future cohorts.

The Coordinator visited several other leading hospitality establishments across Thailand, including Radisson Suites Sukhumvit (Bangkok), Siam@Siam Design Hotel (Bangkok), The Slate (Phuket), and Seaview Resort Khao Lak (Phuket).

These vital engagements aim to explore and strengthen future partnership opportunities with these industry leaders, providing a wider array of global choices for BiPSU students seeking to elevate their international competence.

This initiative is a tangible demonstration of BiPSU's guiding mantra: "Weaving BiPSU with the world, and the world with BiPSU."

Commenting on the successful mission, BiPSU President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., EdD, CHRP, underscored the significance of the international collaborations.
